Saatchi Gallery

The Saacthi Gallery is an exciting place, one of the most modern galleries I have ever been to. Personally I prefer less contemporary places, but the Saatchi Gallery was really breathtaking. Its modern and so contemporary that it really gets you thinking about concepts and how much further you can take your own work. I found it really inspirational , not in the same way that I enjoyed the V&A, but equally just as important. The V&A inspired me by the beautiful craftmenship but the Saatchi inspires me to explore deeper concepts and create work that is more meaningful. The Saatchi Gallery really is worth paying a visit.

Brompton Cemetery

Again Just like Kensington Gardens and Kensington Parish Christ Church, when I'm in London I seek my inspiration from secluded peacful sanctuaries. As a country girl I sought inspiration from the landscapes and woodland from my hometown , so places like Bromptom Cemetery are a great bonus for me in London. The cemetery is ripe with history, nostalgia, gothic monuments and nature. There is just so much to see it truly is a great asset to urban London.

'After the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, London became the world's commercial capital. Its population increased from 1 million in 1800 to over 2.6 million by 1850. Consequently the inadequate sanitary conditions led to endemic disease and the existing burial grounds were unable to cope. Parliament authorised the establishment of seven commercial cemeteries around London, of which Brompton is an outstanding example. It was known as the West of London and Westminster' -http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/brompton_cemetery/about.cfm
